BoardForge is a whiteboard for thinking, running entirely on your own machine. Sketch on an infinite pan-and-zoom canvas with hand-drawn-looking shapes, pressure-smoothed freehand ink, images, frames and text. The important part is that it is a vector scene graph rather than a picture: every element is an object with a stable identity, so connectors bind to the shapes they join and re-route themselves when you move or resize anything, labels stay inside their containers, and a saved board reopens completely editable. Rendering, hit-testing, snapping and every export are derived from that same model, which is why PNG and SVG output is sharp at any size. Snapping and smart guides keep diagrams tidy, a full keyboard map keeps your hands on the canvas, and boards you want private can be sealed as encrypted vaults.
