ResearchForge is built around the actual shape of research work. Import sources as BibTeX or CSL-JSON with their PDFs attached, then read those PDFs inside the app and select text to capture an excerpt that permanently carries its source and page number as provenance — so a quotation always knows where it came from and cites as [@key, p.12]. Write notes in Markdown with KaTeX maths, [[wiki links]] and citations; the bibliography builds itself from what you actually cited. Datasets are typed tables you can import from CSV or TSV and chart offline as bar, line, scatter or pie figures embedded directly in your notes. Every structural change is appended to a SHA-256 hash chain, giving you a tamper-evident lab notebook with a Verify action that is always free. When it is time to write, the manuscript composer assembles notes, excerpts and numbered figures into one cited draft and exports to Markdown, HTML, PDF, Word or a linked static site.
